Are you a skilled Back-End Engineer with a passion for tackling complex problems and optimizing high-impact systems? Do you have experience in the payments industry and a knack for collaborating with cross-functional teams? We're looking for you!

About the Role: We're seeking a talented engineer with a strong Java background and proven expertise in designing and developing sophisticated J2EE applications and services. You'll work closely with our in-house and contract teams on both architecture and design, helping us shape the future of digital finance.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Hands-on experience with internal and external teams, driving impactful projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Java and J2EE, enabling you to provide creative solutions for complex payment applications.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapting quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Background in the payments industry (preferred), with a deep understanding of secure, reliable, and scalable payment solutions.

The Tech:

  • Experience in AWS to architect and maintain cloud-based solutions effectively.
  • Hands-on expertise in designing, building, and testing Java EE applications.
  • Message broker experience with technologies such as Kafka to facilitate seamless communication between services.
  • Microservice architecture knowledge, including containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks, particularly JSF and Spring MVC.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles to build maintainable and scalable software.
  • Experience working with internal and external teams, driving impactful projects from concept through to implementation.

Location: Primarily based in our London (City) office, with opportunities for remote work depending on project requirements.
