About the Role:
Our client, a highly respected international organisation within the (re)insurance and risk sector, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their IT Operations team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud-based infrastructure, and working on cutting-edge containerisation technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless software delivery and high system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain scalable, secure cloud-based infrastructure (primarily AWS).
- Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Implement and oversee tools for system monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Configuration Management: Automate configuration and deployment tasks using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Collaboration: Work with development, QA, and operations teams to understand requirements and ensure smooth delivery.
- Performance Optimization: Analyse and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Security Compliance: Implement DevOps security best practices for CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, with expertise in cloud platforms, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
