The Role

Join a small, dynamic, and growing team of experienced professionals dedicated to revolutionising business development. We’re looking for a talented founding front-end developer with a passion for creating intuitive, visually stunning user interfaces. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong portfolio to play a key role in shaping Handshaik’s customer experience. You’ll work closely with our product and engineering teams to design and implement features that solve real customer problems and make our platform a delight to use.

You’ll have the opportunity to build the product from the earliest stages, solving real customer problems, and playing a key role in the company’s journey towards achieving its business milestones.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
• Translate design mock-ups and wireframes into fully functional, user-friendly web applications.
• Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product teams to deliver seamless and visually appealing user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and standards.
• Optimise applications for maximum speed, scalability, and accessibility.
• Stay up to date with the latest front-end development trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the platform.
• Contribute ideas and feedback to help shape the product roadmap and user experience strategy.

Key Skills:

• Experience: 1-3 years in front-end development or demonstrable experience through personal or professional projects.
• Portfolio: A compelling portfolio showcasing web applications or projects, emphasising user experience and design skills.
• Core Technologies: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and experience with modern frameworks like Next.js, React.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Responsive Design: Experience with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• UI/UX Collaboration: Ability to work closely with designers to implement mock-ups and maintain consistency in branding and visual style.
• Version Control: Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
• Performance Optimisation: Knowledge of front-end performance optimisation techniques.
• Accessibility: Awareness of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
• Bonus Skills: Familiarity with backend integration (e.g., REST APIs, GraphQL) and design tools like Figma or Sketch is a plus. Familiarity with LLM’s or similar (or a willingness to learn). Familiarity with AWS (or a willingness to learn).
