The role involves improving internal applications, coding, and collaborating with a small, remote team. Key skills include OOP, MVC frameworks, REST web services, and JavaScript.Requirements:
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on complex projects
  • You’ll need extensive experience in full stack coding skills and be happy to get stuck in doing a bit of everything (polyglot style), with experience as follows:
-Object Oriented Programming-MVC frameworks (ideally Jakarta EE/Spring/Grails but would consider .NET/ Django)-Rest Web Services-ORM such as Hibernate-Working knowledge of Linux-MySQL or PostgreSQL-JavaScript, jQuery, CSSKey Responsibilities:
  • Implementing enhancements and project work, associated websites, and API. The work to be undertaken includes the development of new or improved functionality to meet the needs of data managers and a wide variety of external stakeholders, together with front-end enhancements to improve the user experience.Working with colleagues to understand the scope of the work and for testing and deployment.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation.
  • Participating in work planning and management meetings with the Lead Developer and other colleagues as applicable and keeping work planning tools (e.g. Jira) complete and up to date.
  • Contributing to the identification and solution of issues, and the continuous improvement of the application, associated websites and API.
  • Representing the Developer team at internal meetings as appropriate, updating colleagues on work priorities, progress and change.
  • Participating in team-wide meetings and activities, including staff meetings.
