This is a new and exclusive opportunity for Front end Software Engineering Manager to join a thriving FX Financial business in London City as they expand their software engineering team. We are hiring for one Software Engineering Manager, and one hands on software engineer as part of this growth

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Software Engineering Manager to join this thriving FX Business.

You will be leading the FX Customer team where you will be creating software to assist FX Risk processes and support the software engineering team

As the Engineering Manager will be reporting to the FX Director of Engineering. You will be leading a team of 4+ software engineers and manage the delivery of our outsourced partners.

You will be working alongside versatile and experienced engineers improving our FX capabilities. This includes the following contributions:

  • Contribute to the new FX Risk platform. It is a great opportunity to work on scaling software towards using event-driven architecture.

  • Design, build and maintain core FX Risk capabilities. Our customers value us for being able to abstract away the intricacies of foreign exchange market under a simple API solution.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

  • Influence wider company architecture. The FX Risk team is a new team but based on the FX transactions handled by many other teams.

  • Work alongside smart QA engineers, who build and maintain a vast collection of automated testing scenarios.

Technologies:

  • C# .Net

  • AWS - High utilisation of various services

  • Frontend - React, S3, CloudFront, Storybook, Webpack, Typescript

  • DevOps & CI/CD - Code pipeline, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Datadog, PagerDuty, Cloudwatch, Sonarqube, Snyk, CodeArtifact

Qualifications

Tech

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical related field or an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or a PhD.

  • 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead and willingness to step into the EM role.

  • Experience building in software for financial domain, especially in FX is beneficial. .

  • Experience in C#.NET

  • Any experience in Salesforce.com and AWS Amazon Web Services, and Typescript is beneficial but not essential

Personality

  • Genuinely interested in intersection of finance domain and technology. Desire to become a subject matter expert.

  • A self-starter who takes accountability for getting things done.

  • Pragmatism in decision making and ability to get buy-in for ideas and getting them done.
