Role Overview: On behalf of our client, we are seeking three mid to senior-level contract software engineers to significantly scale an existing flood forecasting pipeline and integrate a new model. This position involves complex problem-solving and innovation in climate technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and develop software solutions to scale up the flood forecasting system tenfold.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to design and implement a new forecasting model.
  • Participate in occasional offsite meetings in Loughborough or London (travel and accommodation expenses will be covered).
  • Ensure that software solutions meet functional and technical specifications.
  • Interface with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Python and AWS.
  • Experience in GIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Airflow is preferred.
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
