Our Financial Services client is looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure Devops engineer to join their edinburgh or london based team for a 6 months initial contract.

THIS ROLE SITS INSIDE IR35

  • Highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer to design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS - Must have, GCP - Nice to have) and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and networking principles.
  • Focus on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of cloud environments while optimising resource utilisation.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure deployments and management processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  • Implement and manage networking solutions, including VPC, subnets, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet security best practices, including IAM, encryption and auditing.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and ensure seamless cloud provisioning, scaling, and updates.
  • Set up and maintain monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies for cloud resources, optimising both cost and resource utilisation.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Help monitor cloud usage and cost, suggesting optimisation to reduce overheads and improve resource allocation.
  • Stays up to date on pricing models for AWS, and GCP to ensure cost-efficient cloud usage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Experience with containerised environments and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Experience of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Build and maintain automated infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments using tools like Jenkins, Teamcity or GitLab.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions (eg CloudWatch, Splunk) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues in pipeline and cloud infrastructure, resolving them quickly.
  • Ensure security best practices are embedded throughout the CI/CD pipeline and cloud infrastructure.
  • Nice to have - Familiarity with Apigee Hybrid/X, hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
