Junior Software Developer/QA Engineer
Location: Remote, but ideally based in London/Reading
£32k basic salary
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for technology? Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Software Developer/QA Engineer.

The Role:
This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in software development and quality assurance. You will start by focusing on testing tasks, ensuring the stability and quality of our applications. This includes:
- Writing and executing Java unit and integration tests
- Developing and running Cypress tests for our web applications
- Creating and executing tests for React components
- Conducting manual User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
As you gain experience, you will gradually become involved in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, code review, and deployment.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, or testing frameworks through coursework, internships, or personal projects is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of Git version control and software development practices is a plus.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Java and an interest in learning more about backend development.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, React) and testing frameworks (Cypress, JUnit, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
