We are seeking a highly skilled KDB Developer to join our client’s eFX IT team on a 12-month contract. This is a high-profile role within the core of the eFX business line, which includes algorithmic trading, connectivity to clients and ECNs, and a single dealer platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the capture and reporting of data, developing analytics and visualisation, and working closely with IT and business stakeholders.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work closely with the eFX Jetstream IT team to develop user analytics and solutions for the eFX platform.
  • Capture and manage trading data, ensuring accurate record keeping and distribution.
  • Design and build enriched data reports for various purposes including TCA and compliance.
  • Engage directly with stakeholders and partners on mission-critical tasks.
  • Deliver new features and improvements to the platform’s analytics, availability, and resiliency.
  • Prototype solutions rapidly in response to demands from Front Office and IT teams.
  • Analyse and perform in a high frequency, low latency trading environment.
  • Develop product delivery components, including design documents and functional specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance and third-line support to internal Production Support teams.
  • Participate in software releases, which may include out-of-hours or weekend work.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and provide regular status updates to project managers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Deep experience with KDB in a similar environment, including KDB architecture.
  • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools for CI/CD is desirable.
  • Knowledge of analytics/visualisation tools like Panopticon, Power BI, Jupyter Notebooks is desirable.
  • Clear communication skills and systematic reasoning.
  • Front office knowledge of the FX business or quantitative finance.
  • Understanding of software delivery processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with FX Algo lifecycle.
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • FX experience is ideal.
  • Knowledge of Kafka/Solace would be beneficial.
