Platform Engineer London / WFH to £85k

Opportunity to progress your career in a senior, hands-on role at a rapidly scaling technology investment company that is on a mission to help small businesses run as smoothly as possible by developing tools and resources that empower them to streamline operations and gain access to funding.

As a Platform Engineer you will collaborate with the business and technology teams across the full development lifecycle into production, you'll be investigating, testing and designing improvements to keep the platform and infrastructure up to date and inline with industry standards.

Your responsibilities will include driving the adoption and onboarding of applications to Kubernetes, building and managing Azure services and resources with a focus on performance, security, scalability and resilience, creating, integrating and managing monitoring for all cloud based infrastructure, collaborating with the SRE team to ensure 100% coverage. You will provide advice to software engineering teams and proactively support platform services and tooling (TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps) and help to evolve CI/CD processes to include quality testing, security scanning, load testing and infrastructure validations.

Location / WFH:

There's a hybrid work from home policy with only one day a week in the dog friendly, London office, where you can enjoy a diverse, sociable team atmosphere.

About you:

  • You have strong Azure experience (will also consider AWS or GCP) if happy to work with Azure going forward
  • You have a software development background and strong coding skills, C# would be great but Python, Java or other OO programming language is fine
  • You have a strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker, AKS would be great
  • You have experience of IaC with Terraform and / or Pulumi
  • You have strong experience with CI/CD tools - Azure DevOps or Octopus preferred
  • You have a good knowledge of Windows Server (or Ubuntu or RedHat Linux) and basic networking
  • You have a good knowledge of cloud monitoring systems
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable managing stakeholders and working across teams
