Our leading financial services client is looking for a Infrastructure Architect to join their team for an initial 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension.
Responsibility: Lead the engineering community within the platform (predominantly at this stage based offshore). This role will also be part of my leadership team.
- Developing engineering standards, processes and guidelines for consistency.
- Promote best practice across the teams.
- Documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Research and innovation - emerging technologies, trends.
- Upskill engineers through structured development, certifications etc.
- Mentoring and coaching across the engineering community
- Providing technical advice for engineering challenges
- Problem solving and troubleshooting
- Technical reviews - conduct design and code reviews, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Collaboration across engineers.
- Continuous improvement
- Tooling to streamline and support delivery
- Quality assurance and risk management of engineering deliverables.
- Shaping career pathways.
Skills: Strong (experience in all areas listed)…
- technology delivery background.
- …experience of business delivery and how technology delivery is taken forward from business design and into requirements.
- …communication skills with ability to influence and support business direction and decisions.
- …understanding of delivery requirements through NatWest, including governance and standards to be followed.
- …planning and risk management experience.
- …ability to understand, engage and work with all team capability areas - particularly with architects.
- …Java, React, SQL, AWS cloud, Kafka, microservice, headless services & architecture experience.
