Rust Developer / Backend Software Engineer (Rust Python) London to £100k

Are you a finance technologist with strong Rust coding skills?

You could be progressing your career in a hands-on role at a growing, global, FinTech services company that has seen 30-40% year on year growth for the past 10 years and has ambitious growth plans, with £48 million investment growth recently.

As a Rust Developer you will work on building the core product, APIs and event driven microservices as well as building the financial models themselves. You'll be working on a relatively new code base with no technical debt (it's true!) implementing cloud-native applications on AWS using Rust primarily (also some Python).

You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders including quants, risk advisory and capital market desks to understand their needs and propose new solutions and will be empowered to investigate and recommend new technologies and solutions to make improvements.

Location / WFH:

You'll join the team in Central London three days a week with flexibility to work from home the other two days.

About you:

  • You are degree educated in a STEM discipline and have ideally studied to MSc / PhD level
  • You have strong backend development skills, Python and / or Rust (you will be working with Rust mainly going forward so if you don't have commercial experience you will have used it in your own time)
  • You have experience within a financial services / trading environment with a good knowledge of financial models / trading strategy implementation
  • You're familiar with AWS
  • You have a good knowledge of databases, they use MongoDB, MySQL and DynamoDB
  • You have a curious and inquisitive nature and are keen to stay up to date with emerging technologies
