Senior Application Specialist (Power Platform Developer) - Hybrid Working (Mainly Home based) - City of London Offices

Purpose of the Role:

To join a fast-growing UK Based law firm with technology at their hear of their success.

The Senior Application Specialist will play a key role in supporting business applications and systems, focusing on design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance. This role will also involve developing and enhancing custom business applications using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

You'd join a team of 4 reporting to their Head of Development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an application specialist, providing effective support and resolving escalated application-related issues.
  • Set up and configure Power Platform, integrating it with relevant systems and building PowerApps solutions from scratch in a greenfield environment.
  • Design and develop custom business applications using Microsoft PowerApps.
  • Automate business processes and workflows using Power Automate.
  • Develop or extend applications using C#, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Review existing 'pro-code' solutions for suitability and feasibility of migration, developing and implementing a transition roadmap.
  • Gather and document business requirements, create functional specifications, and design documents for solutions.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and manage stakeholder coordination for timely project delivery.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for application-related change requests, ensuring accurate documentation aligned with the change process.
  • Provide technical guidance on achieving business requirements, document completed work, and ensure alignment between development and production environments after successful UAT and business sign-off.
  • Lead technical aspects of approved projects, working collaboratively with project teams and wider business stakeholders.
  • Work with the business and development teams to establish data mappings between Power Platform and internal systems.
  • Conduct application testing, including UAT, for new functionality, updates, and product patches/upgrades.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external support providers to ensure business continuity of line-of-business applications.
  • Maintain knowledge of key applications and platforms, including iManage, Mattersphere, Aderant, BigHand, Dynamics CRM, and HighQ.

Experience:

  • 5 years + in a similar role
  • Experience supporting line-of-business applications, such as document management, case management, and practice management systems (desirable).
  • Acting as an escalation point for application-based technical issues.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of scripting languages (Windows PowerShell, HTML, .NET).
  • Strong Power Platform proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good understanding of SQL Server.
  • Desirable experience with case management applications would be beneficial yet not essential
