Senior Go Developer

VIQU has partnered with a renowned brand who are seeking a Senior Go Developer to join their backend team in their transition into micro service architecture.
The Senior Go Developer will be required to collaborate with backend and engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements, working alongside senior developers to design and implement solutions. The successful candidate will write high-quality, maintainable code, ensuring robust test coverage through unit tests. The Senior Go Developer will also work to mentor junior developers, taking ownership of assigned tasks and projects, and contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing. Additionally, the Senior Go Developer will participate in the on-call rota upon successful completion of their probation period.
Key Requirements of the Senior Go Developer:
- 6+ years of backend development experience with Golang and ideally PHP
- Proven experience building scalable enterprise systems and microservices.
- Experience with unit testing, Git, and SQL
- Knowledge of cloud services (ideally AWS but Azure and GCP are also acceptable)
- Skilled in debugging critical business systems.
- Familiar with caching solutions, performance optimisation, and CI/CD automation.
- PHP experience (functional & OOP) and familiarity with frameworks like Laravel and Symfony (desired)
