Crone Corkill are partnered with a long standing financial client who are searching for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the team. Working as part of a close-knit team in a 5 day per week onsite setting, you'll take responsibility for designs, implementations, migrations, optimisations and management across the Infrastructure landscape.
They require someone who has experience working in small to mid-sized firms and is happy working with primarily on-prem technologies. As a senior member of the team, you may be asked to deal with escalations and troubleshoot a variety of issues, though the main bulk of the role will focus on virtualisation, servers, storage, networking, security and a handful of Cloud technologies.
If you do not have experience working within financial SMEs/lean IT teams, it is unlikely your application will be considered.
What will you do as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer?
- Manage Windows & Linux systems, virtualisation platforms and Cloud services
- Troubleshoot complex issues and act as an escalation point within the team where required
- Design and deploy servers, storage, networking, security and Cloud environments
- Lead a variety of IT projects focused on servers, storage, security, networking, Cloud, etc
- Interact, support and manage relationships with end users, stakeholders and executives
- Implement PowerShell scripting solutions to automate processes
- Performance tuning, capacity planning and monitoring of Infrastructure systems
- Assist with DR & BCP strategies
What skills do you need to be a Senior Infrastructure Engineer?
- Financial SME experience
- Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
- Experience with VMware & Hyper-V
- Conditional formatting experience
- Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO and MFA experience
- Intune Endpoint Management
- SCCM experience
- O365 admin, Exchange Online and Exchange Server 2019/Hybrid environments
- Windows Server 2016 - 2025
- Writing/creating PowerShell scripts
- Networking knowledge (Cisco fundamentals, Fortinet firewalls, etc)
- Veeam backup (desirable)
- NetApp or similar Storage experience (desirable)
- Supporting Mitel telephone systems (desirable)
- Market Data experience - Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc (desirable)
- SQL Server DB management & admin (desirable)
