Job Title: Software Developer

Our client (within the energy/ sustainability sector) is looking for a skilled and passionate Software Developer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software applications.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create scalable and efficient solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Debug and resolve software issues, improving system performance and reliability.
Implement automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Optimize and refactor existing codebases to improve functionality and efficiency.

What You Need to Succeed:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in software development.
Proven experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
Experience with front-end and back-end development, including frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, or Django.
Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Bonus Points:

Experience with microservices architecture and API development.
Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
Relevant certifications in cloud computing, DevOps, or software engineering.

Please note - this role is outside of IR35 contract role. Likely for 8 months. The successful candidate will need to register as a PSC company with companies house and be responsible for deducting their own Tax and NI to HMRC.
