Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create scalable and efficient solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Debug and resolve software issues, improving system performance and reliability.
- Implement automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Optimize and refactor existing codebases to improve functionality and efficiency.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software development.
- Proven experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience with front-end and back-end development, including frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, or Django.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with microservices architecture and API development.
- Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
- Relevant certifications in cloud computing, DevOps, or software engineering.
Please note - this role is outside of IR35 contract role. Likely for 8 months. The successful candidate will need to register as a PSC company with companies house and be responsible for deducting their own Tax and NI to HMRC.
