Terraform Developer - Remote Working

Our client, a leading global insurance company, are currently looking to hire a Terraform Developer to join the team on a remote working contract basis.

Role Summary:

  • This role forms part of a distributed, global infrastructure team that is responsible for the continued availability and support of a hybrid on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
  • Specifically, working within infrastructure project delivery, providing input to and delivering IT solutions to the Group, by drawing upon their wealth of practical and technical experience.
  • This role specifically linking Infrastructure and Development.
  • It may include the provision of escalation support to the service desk, infrastructure system administration and maintenance to all Companies within the Group.
  • The role will be expected to work within a fast-pace environment, with high degrees of ambiguity arising from a period of significant change.

General Responsibilities:

  • Good communication skills and experience with collaborative working
  • Respond to the Project requirements as required
  • Behave with all clients fairly and ethically with excellent customer service
  • Take ownership of issues and provide updates to users on outstanding issues.
  • Providing escalation support to the Project Management team during project activity
  • Ensuring all changes to production services are subject to change control
  • Producing documentation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of post project support as part of project delivery
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in different time-zones (primarily US - this may involve some evening working)
  • Conducting root cause analysis following unplanned disruptions to improve system availability during project and warranty periods
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Technical Skills Required:

  • Excellent Terraform Skills
  • Ability to write clear, effective, and scalable code.
  • Strong knowledge of working within an Azure / DevOps environment
  • Proven ability in effective problem-solving
  • Evidence of engineering technical solutions to business requirements
  • Be able to evidence experience of working within project delivery frameworks, able to demonstrate time management and labour estimating

Desirable experience:

  • Previous experience in on-premise to Azure migration desirable.
  • Any experience in auto-scaling would be desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience within the Insurance or Financial services industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
