About the Role

My client is a small, well-established InsurTech and they are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Tester to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys "doing" - planning, executing, and optimising testing processes - while aspiring to grow into a leadership role over time. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of their software,

contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the delivery of a robust product. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and enhance their testing processes, collaborate across teams, and gain the experience and exposure needed to develop into a Test Lead role in the future.

Key Responsibilities

1. Testing Execution and Strategy - Contribute to and execute the Test Strategy including planning, writing, and executing test scripts at Unit and System levels to ensure product quality.

2. Requirements Collaboration - Engage with the team throughout the requirements gathering and writing process to ensure a holistic approach to testing and provide early input on potential risks, ambiguities, or edge cases, ensuring requirements are thorough, clear, and testable.

3. Testing Methodologies and Tools - In conjunction with the Head of Technology identify and apply the most appropriate and up-to-date testing methodologies to ensure the application meets high standards of quality and reliability.

4. Continuous Improvement - Actively identify and raise opportunities to improve testing practices and processes

5. Collaboration and Relationships - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product owners, to understand requirements, clarify deliverables, and ensure

About You

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-driven, with a passion for hands-on testing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and values early engagement in the requirements writing process.
  • Experienced with various testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Communicates effectively and is eager to grow into a leadership role over time.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Proven experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing
  • Familiarity with common testing tools and frameworks
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies

Desirable

  • Experience in defining or contributing to test strategies
  • Exposure to leadership responsibilities or mentoring team members
  • Knowledge of the Insurance and/or InsurTech sector or a strong interest to learn about it

This role is fully remote in the UK with occasional visits to the London office

In addition to the base salary, there is an annual bonus of 10-15%
