About Us:

Our Ofsted Outstanding client school in the Borough of Lewisham is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start. They pride themselves on fostering high-quality, authentic relationships. The SLT are now looking for an ambitious 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support two pupils with Autism. The school have high expectations and excellence for all is a norm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in supporting SEN pupils.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Provide one-on-one support to children with Autism.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience working within a classroom as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Autism and supporting pupils accordingly.
  • Desirable: Experience working with children in a school setting.
