Role: SEND Teaching Assistant for Complex Needs.

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Milk Education is excited to present this exciting opportunity for individuals with extensive experience with SEND. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who has or desires to gain experience of working within a pastoral team for students with Autism and/or complex needs.

They are seeking to appoint a confident, dynamic, and inspirational person who can inspire students to achieve positive learning outcomes, regardless of the challenges they face.

Role Details

  • You will have students referred to your case load and work with the class team, supported by classes’ allocated Behaviour and Pastoral Support Officer to train staff in implementing the Behaviour Support Plan.
  • The role involves some wider strategic input of behaviour across the school, working alongside the Head of Pastoral Care to create reports on the analysis of whole school behaviour, as well as involvement in the design of policy and training packages, including outreach.
  • The candidate must have experience of SEN education or residential provision and will be supported through professional development opportunities to work independently as well as part of an experienced team.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • GCSE equivalent to C/4 in Maths and English
  • Level 2 Qualification and above would be highly desirable
  • Successful experience within a similar setting supporting students with SEN
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and students
  • Understanding of EHCPs and the SEN Code of Practice highly desirable
