We are currently working with a Special Needs school in South East London who are expanding to include a nursery class and are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their school in September.

The Role 

In this role you will be working in the school’s new nursery class. There will be a maximum of five 3 to 4 year olds in the class all who have complex needs and ASD. You will work alongside the class teacher and other SEND Teaching Assistants to provide 1 to 1 support to pupils through a range of play-based learning and development activities. You will be working with every child in the class at different points in the week. The pupils will require personal care, support with eating and daily tasks as well as support in lessons. You will be using a variety of teaching and communication methods including PECS, Attention Autism,

The school are looking for an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant who has worked in Early Years and is confident and open to provide care and support to young children with this level of complex needs.

The school

This small, welcoming Special Needs School is based in South East London and specializes in the teaching of children on the autistic spectrum. They offer a curriculum which includes various therapies including music and animal therapy. They have a hydrotherapy pool and a range of specially designed facilities to support pupils. There are excellent professional development opportunities at the school. The school is easily accessible and has good local transport links.
