The Role - Supporting Early Years SEN Pupils

Remedy Education is looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive Early Years setting in Lewisham. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with children aged 3-5 who have additional needs, helping them build the essential skills they need for a bright future.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to young children with special educational needs.
  • Assisting in play-based learning activities that develop key skills such as communication, social interaction, and motor development.
  • Using sensory play, visual aids, and structured routines to engage and support children's learning.
  • Helping children develop early language and communication skills, using Makaton, PECs, or other appropriate strategies.
  • Supporting children's emotional and social development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and confident.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans.

What We're Looking For

  • A caring, patient, and energetic individual with a passion for working with young children.
  • Experience working in an Early Years setting or with children with SEN (school, nursery, or care experience welcomed).
  • A creative and adaptable approach to child-led learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years Education, or equivalent) are a bonus but not essential
