Time Plan Education are recruiting a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support students either one-on-one or in group settings throughout the school day. You will work with children aged 11-16 who have identified SEN needs. Your role will involve supporting pupils in the classroom, participating in specialist mentoring sessions, and assisting during some break times. Some students may exhibit more challenging behaviours, and the school will provide training in effective interventions and strategies. As a key member of the child's support team, you will collaborate closely with the SENCO, senior management, and external professionals such as therapists, healthcare providers, and CAMHS.

The school is an SEN school in the Waltham Forest area, which is known for its flexible team and supportive SLT.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comfortable supporting pupils with various Learning Difficulties and EAL.
  • Have experience with Phonics
  • Ability to engage and support pupils.
  • Assist with personal care if needed.
  • Supervising pupils' behaviour.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND is desirable but is not essential.
  • Experience supporting with Phonics
  • Calm and empathetic.
  • Proactive
  • Good behaviour management.
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 2-6 months.
