Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant | Temp to Perm | Immediate Start | South East London

We at Remedy are seeking a fantastic new Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant for one of our leading primary schools in South East London. This brand new Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant would require you to support pupils in a group setting. Some of the pupils have special education needs (i.e ASD ADHD or PMLD). The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network og dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Location: Havering, East London

Contract: Full time

Rate: £95-110 per day

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Supervising and supporting identified students, in 1:1 or in small groups.
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies, working with the teacher to ensure the provision supports each identified student's learning needs
  • Providing detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students' achievement, progress and needs
  • Leading small group sessions and interventions as appropriate
  • Supporting with behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.

Who we Welcome:

  • We are super interested in students who come from a psychology, sociology or Sports background.
  • Those who have Health and Social Care NVQ or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Or CACHE Level 3 qualifications
