Horizon Teachers are currently working with a SEND School in Tower Hamlets that are requiring a Learning Support Assistant to support one of their Secondary aged students on a 1:1 long-term basis from September 2024 until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis.The school cater for students aged 4 to 16 that have complex and severe learning difficulties. As a Learning Support Assistant in this school you will need to be able to use your initiative to best help support the children during class time. The student you will be supporting has complex learning difficulties as well as being non-verbal, so experience supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities would be very desirable. The school provide quality teaching, social care and health care facilities and they aim to provide a nurturing and structured, calm learning environment which supports their pupils to develop self-belief and a positive attitude towards learning.What the school are looking for in a Learning Support Assistant:
  • An enthusiastic and proactive individual
  • Previous experience working with SEND - especially children with severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities
  • Moving and Handling experience is very desirable
