Learning support Assistant

Tempest education are currently working with an Ofsted Outstanding rated Primary School in Lewisham. The school require a Learning Support Assistant this is a full time role, The Learning support assistant will be working Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.00pm (during school term time)

The Learning support assistant will be supporting a child 1:1 In one of theor KS2 Classes. They require additional support to access the learning as they are currently working at a lower level and have mild learning difficulties.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be tasked with managing behaviour, helping them focus and breaking down the learning to make it accessible to theor ability.

The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar role, be resilient and be able to quickly create a rapport with the child to help support them.

What the school are looking for in their Learning Support Assistants:

  • Experience supporting children, ideally in a formal classroom setting.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly autism
  • Confidence to work independently, although fully supported you will often be working 1:1 outside of the main classroom
  • Be able to assist the class teacher with preparing resources, planning sessions and other tasks.
