Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)Location: Haringey, North LondonSchool Setting: Mainstream Primary School, EYFS ClassStart Date: ASAP

A vibrant primary school in Haringey is currently looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to provide focused support to a child in their EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) class who has an EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan). This role is ideal for someone with experience working with young children, particularly those with Autism or other special educational needs, who is passionate about helping students succeed in a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:

• Offer personalised one-to-one support for a child with an EHCP in the EYFS class.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to tailor lessons and activities to the child's individual learning needs.
• Encourage the child's social, emotional, and behavioural development, creating a supportive and positive learning environment.
• Work closely with the SEN team to ensure the child's EHCP is followed, and their progress is carefully monitored.
• Adapt and provide additional resources to ensure the child is fully included in all classroom activities.

Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, especially in early years or primary school settings.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and how to apply individual strategies to support a child in a mainstream class.
• Strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to build positive relationships with young learners.
• A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
