About Us:We are a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Southwark, dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students. We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering their academic and personal development.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student confidence and self-esteem.
  • Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other support staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with students.
  • A current DBS certificate on the update service is required.
  • Relevant qualifications in child development or education are an advantage.
