Are you an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A Good-rated primary school in Hackney is seeking an enthusiastic LSA to support pupils with diverse SEN needs across different year groups.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment, providing tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and more. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure pupils receive the help they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Implement personalised strategies and interventions as outlined in pupils' Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupils' confidence and independence.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with staff and parents to ensure effective support.
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of working with children with various SEN, including Autism and ADHD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children's individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent are desirable.
