Milk Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with a primary school in Crouch End, Haringey. This role will specifically support a wonderful Year 3 pupil with Autism. If you have a passion for helping children thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment, this could be the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with Autism during lessons, ensuring they can access the curriculum and fully participate in class activities.
  • Assist during break times to ensure the pupil feels safe, supported, and included in playground activities.
  • Help implement tailored strategies to support the pupil’s emotional, social, and educational development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure learning activities are accessible and appropriate for the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Support the pupil in developing positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Encourage independence and help build the pupil’s confidence in both academic and social situations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about working with children, with a deep understanding of the importance of inclusive education.
  • Patient, understanding, and nurturing, able to adapt to the child’s unique needs and communication style.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and offer consistent support throughout the school day.
  • Good understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a willingness to learn and develop skills to best support the pupil.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and a natural ability to connect with children.
  • A team player, eager to collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the pupil’s success.
