Learning Support Assistant
- Salary: £90 - £100 per day

- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Ongoing sick cover)
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team, focusing on assisting a special needs student. This role is crucial in providing tailored support and ensuring an inclusive learning environment. The position is based in Walthamstow and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a student's educational journey.
Day-to-day of the role of a Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one support to a special needs student, adapting to their educational and emotional needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment.
- Utilise appropriate learning aids and techniques to enhance student comprehension and engagement.
- Monitor and report on the student's progress to teachers and parents/guardians.
- Ensure the student's safety and wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Participate in training and development sessions to improve professional competence and special needs education knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications of an LSA:
- Experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting special needs students.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by special needs students and how to effectively address them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are preferred.
