A respected mainstream secondary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people in their education. The role is full-time and will continue until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), both in one-to-one and group settings.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet students' needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents as required.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in an educational, care, or mentoring capacity.
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEND is essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
