Learning Support Assistant - Primary School - Waltham Forest

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Waltham Forest. This is an excellent opportunity to work with young learners, supporting their educational and emotional development in a welcoming school environment.

Role Overview:

  • Full-time Learning Support Assistant role
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with children across Key Stages 1 and 2
  • Supporting students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, ASD, and SEMH
  • Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Providing tailored support to help students reach their full potential

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a similar role
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child care
