Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School, Greenwich

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning journey? Do you have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School in Greenwich.

Start Date: ImmediateContract: Full-time, long-term (until the end of the academic year)Salary: Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students in both one-to-one and group settings
  • Assist students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to engage with the curriculum and school life
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted learning interventions and differentiated lessons
  • Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students
  • Promote independence and positive behaviour within the classroom
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to ensure the best outcomes for students

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting is essential
  • A DBS on the update service is required
  • Experience or understanding of SEND is desired (strongly encouraged to apply even if not extensive)
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
  • The ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents
