Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support named students with learning difficulties or disabilities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Facilitate students' full access to the curriculum, ensuring they can achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies that improve educational outcomes for students with additional needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and adapt according to the specific needs of students.
  • Monitor and support the progress and attainment of students.
  • Provide feedback to teachers and parents to help further support students’ educational development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or a similar role, or a graduate aiming to gain experience before pursuing teacher training.
  • Strong passion for education and improving outcomes for young people with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience working with young people in educational or related settings is preferred.
