A small primary school in Waltham Forest are looking for a 1 to 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school to support a child in nursery with special educational needs. 

The Role

In this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will be supporting a child on a 1 to 1 basis who has just joined the school nursery. The child has a diagnosis of autism and epilepsy and is non-verbal at present. She will require support with all aspects of attending nursery including personal care.

You will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher and will be involved in some care plan assessments. You will have daily interaction with the child’s parents to provide updates etc. 

The school are ideally looking for someone with previous experience supporting young people with autism. This role is to start immediately and the role is expected to continue for the rest of the academic year.

This small, welcoming 1-form-entry primary school in based Waltham Forest and easily accessible by car and local bus routes.  There is a true community feel at the school and a very inclusive approach where staff know each child individually. There is a caring and dedicated leadership team in place at the school who ensure all staff and children are supported effectively. Children make good progress within the school and there are good links with parents and the wider community.
