Behaviour Mentor Needed - Immediate Start in Waltham Forest

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor for a secondary school in Waltham Forest, with an immediate start. In this role, you'll support students with behavioural needs, keeping them on track while providing social and emotional guidance.

Ideal Candidate: This role is perfect for a confident individual, preferably with experience in behaviour mentoring. You'll need to be both understanding and firm, with strong administrative skills. Knowledge of SIMS for logging student progress is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one support in the classroom.
  • Ensuring a visible presence around the school to promote positive behaviour.
  • Addressing and managing low-level disruptions and encouraging a positive learning environment.
  • De-escalating behaviour incidents and teaching students how to self-regulate.
  • Supervising students in the isolation room and ensuring they complete their classwork.
  • Monitoring detention sessions to maintain order.

About the School: This large, Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school offers ample opportunities for professional growth due to its size. The school is located just a 7-minute walk from the nearest station and is well-served by local bus routes. On-site parking is also available for drivers.
