Job Description:A primary school in Highgate is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Reception who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is on an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of SEN needs and the ability to work closely with children in early education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with ASD in Reception, following the EHCP to support development and learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the child's specific needs are met.
  • Adapt learning activities and use differentiated teaching methods to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive environment that supports the child's social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Work alongside professionals to monitor and report on the child's progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with Autism or similar SEN needs, particularly within the early years.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and the ability to implement them effectively.
