SEN/ LSA - South LondonYour new roleLooking for a fulfilling role that makes a real difference in young people's lives? We have an exciting opportunity available! We are currently looking for Learning Support Assistants to work with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups across KS3/KS4/KS5 in a college (16+) setting.The ideal candidates will have experience of delivering tailored learning plans to students with SEMH, dyslexia or ADHD. However, experience in building strong relationships with young people is a must.As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for running specific programs and activities to assist pupils' individual learning and social needs. You will also be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils' Individual Education Plan (IEP) in liaison with the class teacher and SENCO.

  • You will work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across KS3/KS4/KS5.
  • To develop knowledge of the needs of the child and seek advice from the SENCO, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
  • To aid access to the full range of learning experiences.
  • Provide and utilise modified materials as required, e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.
  • To make or modify resources as suggested and advised by the SENCO, Educational Psychologist or other outside agencies.
  • To organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide positive reinforcement, praise and rewards for pupils.
  • Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.
  • To attend service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post to keep up to date with developments in working with young people with special educational needs.
