About the Role:Â We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a bright and academic KS3Â student with autism, ADHD, and dyspraxia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping the student access their lessons, build friendships, and develop essential skills such as resilience, ultimately aiding them in reaching their high academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to the student during lessons and school activities.
- Assist the student in building and maintaining friendships within the school environment.
- Help the student regulate their emotions and develop coping strategies.
- Encourage and support the student's academic pursuits and interests.
- Liaise confidently with school staff, parents, and professionals to advocate for the student's needs.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student and their family.
Essential Requirements:
- Male candidate with experience working with young people with autism.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Organised, reliable, and professional in all aspects of the role.
- Ability to build a positive rapport with the student and their family.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledgeable in subjects such as psychology, sociology, maths, motivational works, or similar.
- Enthusiastic about academic subjects and supporting students' educational journeys.
- Interest in sports, particularly basketball, to engage with the student's extracurricular interests.
Commitment:
- Minimum of 1 year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
