SEN HLTA - (KS1 & KS2) - Greenwich

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a Level 4 qualification and a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are working with a mainstream primary school in Greenwich seeking to appoint a dedicated SEN HLTA to join their specialist unit. This role involves providing essential support to the SEN Teacher, helping to deliver tailored learning for children across Key Stage 1 and 2.

As an SEN HLTA, you will play a vital role in ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with the SEN Teacher and other staff, you will contribute to a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties.

Location: Greenwich, South East LondonPosition: SEN HLTA - Specialist Unit (KS1 & KS2)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SEN Teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons, ensuring that the needs of each child are met.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and help monitor and assess student progress.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support, adapting resources and strategies to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team, including teaching assistants and SENCO, to create a cohesive and effective learning experience.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Level 4 HLTA qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting is required.
  • Knowledge of supporting children across Key Stage 1 and 2 is highly desirable.
