Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is keen to provide support for a child with SEN needs. The child is selectively mute, so the ideal candidate will need to adopt a nurturing and caring approach. We also welcome applications from graduates aspiring to advance in education, even if they have limited classroom experience, or individuals with nannying experience.
About the Role:
- Work in a mixed-ability class where some pupils have SEN diagnoses.
- Support a non-verbal child to enhance their learning experience.
- Lead interventions as needed to promote individual progress.
- Create engaging learning resources to foster academic development.
- Assist in setting up and tidying up at the beginning and end of lessons where possible.
Requirements:
- Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Must possess a proactive attitude and demonstrate initiative.
- Knowledge of PECS or non-verbal communication strategies is beneficial.
- A Bachelor's degree is ideal, but not essential.
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
