Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Waltham Forest. This full-time position is for the entire academic year, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have access to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Primary School, Waltham ForestContract: Full-Time, Academic Year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students with SEN.
  • Help prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of various SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's educational and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support are advantageous.
