SEN Teaching Assistant Role in Southwark

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are recruiting for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant on behalf of a thriving mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Southwark.

Role Details:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Southwark, London
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, term-time only
  • Duration: Until the end of the academic year in July 2025
  • Daily Rate: £90 - £120 (with potential for additional hours in breakfast and after school clubs)

About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to thrive in a mainstream classroom setting. Your responsibilities will include one-on-one support, small group interventions, and helping to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
