We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary schools in and around London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, both in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings. You will support their academic, emotional, and social development, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff
Help create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting
A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or SEN-specific training)
Experience in a secondary school setting
