Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide vital support for a child with special educational needs. The child has autism, so the ideal candidate should demonstrate a nurturing and empathetic approach. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or with SEN students is highly desirable.
About the Role:
- Work within a mixed-ability classroom that includes pupils with SEN diagnoses.
- Offer tailored support for a non-verbal child to enhance their learning journey.
- Lead targeted interventions as needed to promote individual progress.
- Create engaging learning resources that stimulate academic development.
- Assist with classroom organisation and tidying at the start and end of lessons where possible.
Requirements:
- Essential experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to demonstrate initiative are crucial.
- Knowledge of PECS or non-verbal communication strategies is beneficial.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
