SEN Teacher Assistant - North London - Full time - November start

We are currently recruiting for a full time SEN Teacher Assistant to work for a reputable special needs school based in North London. This special needs school specialises in helping the lives of young autistic individuals by creating a safe and happy environment for them to thrive by adapting teaching styles to give them a more personalised approach.

Your responsibilities as a SEN Teacher Assistant will include -

  • Be responsible for keeping up to date with safeguarding / health & safety policies.
  • Value and use differences and diversities in learning support.
  • Have an ability to adapt your support style to meet a range of learners needs operating and across a variety of ages.
  • Train in and consistently apply Positive Behaviour Support strategies / handling techniques

Personal Attributes:

  • Have knowledge or know about autism
  • Willingness to support and manage behaviours of distress
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (in English)
  • To have the physical and emotional resilience to work with autistic children/YP who may have behaviours that challenge
