Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in an Year 6 setting in Islington, providing one-to-one and group support for children with behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support the emotional and social development of the children, promoting positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resource management, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Liaise with parents and external professionals to ensure the child's progress and needs are effectively communicated and met.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in an Year 6, with a strong background in supporting children with special needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and a patient, caring approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school community.
