Tradewind Recruitment is excited to be working with a lovely Primary School in Gants Hill, Redbridge, to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in supporting children with special educational needs to make a real difference in a child's life.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 1 pupil, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role will include:

  • Supporting the pupil's individual learning needs during lessons.
  • Implementing personalised strategies to assist with focus and engagement.
  • Helping to manage behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
  • Promoting the child's independence and self-confidence.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and school staff.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can remain patient, calm, and empathetic in challenging situations.
  • Is enthusiastic about making a positive impact on children's education.
