Immediate Start | 85 - 110 per day | Weekly Pay | Full-Time | Long-Term with Potential for Permanent Role

We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN School based in the London Borough of Wandsworth. This is an immediate start position, subject to registration, with a competitive daily pay rate of 85 to 110, paid weekly. The role is full-time and non-negotiable, so part-time applicants will not be considered. This is a long-term temporary position with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate, based on performance and success in the school.



About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to ensure they can access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive, inclusive learning environment. You will work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your key duties will include:

  • Liaising with the classroom teacher to identify the best ways to support students and implement tailored strategies
  • Conducting small-group interventions to support pupils with varying needs, including academic and social development
  • Assisting with reading, writing, and schoolwork to help students meet their individual learning goals
  • Preparing learning materials and resources to engage and support pupils
  • Supporting students to build communication skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Helping students with physical tasks (e.g., personal care, mobility) where necessary
  • Providing pastoral support and helping students with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Promoting a safe and positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable and encouraged to participate


What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a school environment is essential
  • Experience supporting students with SEN or special needs is highly desirable, but not essential
  • A clear and enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEND
  • Full-time availability (as part-time candidates will not be considered)
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for supporting vulnerable students
